Good news, everyone! I’ve officially joined the [CarryTheWhat?] Replications team! I’ll be helping them develop new and cool products in addition to helping produce their current ones.
I recently spent a few days with Chris and Cyndi up in Boston, MA, getting familiar with some of their equipment. They use a MakerBot Replicator, an Up!3D, and an Up!Mini for all of their printing. I’m used to printing PLA on my Printrbot Jr., so it was cool to see models being printed using ABS plastic.
The highlight of the trip for me was going to a SoWa Open Market with [CTW?], and getting a feel for the open market environment. We had a great day, and people loved coming up to us and talking about 3D printers. This was great, because we all love talking about 3D printers (as seen in the picture below)! We brought our MakerBot Replicator with us to help demonstrate how a 3D printer works; a lot of people were surprised to see how small it is! Most common question: “Can you print another 3D printer with it?” Answer? “Not yet. But soon.”
I’m looking forward to working with [CarryTheWhat?], and I can’t wait to show you all the new stuff we’re working on!
