Hold on to your butts!

Inspired by the old printer that played the E1M1 music from my favorite video game Doom, I decided to see how difficult it would be to get my 3D printer to do the same thing with the theme from Jurassic Park. (Spoiler alert: It wasn’t easy)

Roar!Roar!

I found a MIDI file for the Jurassic Park theme on the MovieThemes.net site.

The g-code was generated using the HomeConstructor.de MIDI-to-g-code page. It took a few hours of tweaking, and I had to examine the MIDI file in Garageband to see what channel the melody was on. I isolated it and used the X and Y axes of the printer to play it.

If you want to play with the g-code, you can download it here: Jurassic Park g-code. Fiddle with it at your own risk!
